AY 2008-2009 Objectives

Current Objectives:

Immediate goals/emphases for the current academic (or fiscal) year (FY 2009)

  1. Recruitment and retention (new programs, new academic standards [as of fall 2009], programs with TTU)
  2. Staff Salary Equity Reviews
  3. Increased Marketing
  4. Increase in Study Abroad Scholarships
  5. Division Re-Alignments
  6. New Faculty/Staff Positions

Strategic Directions:

Broad focus areas identified by the university that translate the mission statement and vision statement into categories that lend themselves to measuring the level of success attained. Strategic Directions often have a two-to-three-year focus period.

  1. Enhancement of selected academic programs (International Cultural Fluency, Agriculture, Visual and Performing Arts, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Social Work, Nursing)
  2. ASU-TTU Partnerships (Including Hill Country Initiative)
  3. Expansion of Graduate School programs, emphases, and locations
  4. Residential campus
  5. Attainment of HSI (Hispanic-Serving Institution) status
  6. Honors Program enrollment to equal 10% of student body
  7. First-Year Experience program
  8. Faculty Salary Equity Reviews
  9. Leadership in/with the City of San Angelo
  10. NCATE/AACSB accreditation
  11. Establishment of a "culture of continuous improvement" through accountability initiatives
