Federal Loans to the Auto Industry Under the Energy Independence and Security Act (Congressional Research Service) (CRS Report to Congress, November 13, 2008) (RL34743) (27 pp.) -- This CRS report discusses a Federal loan program that companies in the automobile industry are eligible for under legislation enacted to create incentives for more fuel-efficient vehicles. It discusses how the program may help the industry, but it also outlines some aspects that may make it difficult for the companies to participate.
