Scholarships and Other Opportunities
Entering Freshmen and Spring Admission
The Honors Program provides scholarships to current Honors students after their first full year in the program. Option One Track students receive $3,000 per academic year split between the fall and spring semesters. Option Two Track students receive $1,500. To be eligible for one of these scholarships, a student must:
- Turn in the Honors Program Application before the priority deadline.*
- Take at least one Honors course each fall and spring semester (NOTE: Option Two Track students are not subject to this requirement.).
- Regularly attend Honors Student Association meetings and events.
- Have a cumulative 3.25 GPA.
- Finish freshman and sophomore Honors Program coursework by the end of their third year at ASU.
- Abide by the Honors Student Handbook.
GPHC/NCHC Honors Program Graduates
Any student who enters the ASU Honors Program after graduation from a community college Honors Program that is a member of Great Plains Honors Council (GPHC) and National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) is immediately eligible to receive a $3,000 scholarship each academic year split between the fall and spring semesters. To be eligible for this scholarship a student must:
- Turn in the Honors Program Application before the priority deadline.*
- Take at least one Honors course each fall and spring semester.
- Regularly attend Honors Student Association meetings and events.
- Have a cumulative 3.25 GPA.
- Abide by the Honors Student Handbook.
* Scholarship eligibility may be considered for applications received after the priority deadline to the extent that funds are available.
IMPORTANT:
Students must remain in the Honors Program in order to receive the spring scholarship disbursement.
Honors Student Association Scholarship
Three $750 scholarships are awarded each year to active participants in the Honors Student Association (HSA). One scholarship each is given to a returning sophomore, junior and senior. Recipients of the scholarship are selected primarily for their proven attendance, leadership and participation in HSA. Students must apply to be considered for this scholarship.
Honors Advantage Scholarship
Students interested in entering medical school or law school after graduation from ASU may be eligible for Honors Advantage Scholarships. To be eligible, students must be pre-medicine or pre-law, have attained a 1300 SAT or 29 ACT, and cannot have matriculated into any other college following high school graduation.
Honors Advantage Scholarship students receive $3,000 per academic year split between the fall and spring semesters. For more information, review the Honors Advantage Scholarship Acceptance Form.

Students who qualify to participate in the Honors Program are generally eligible for other ASU scholarship opportunities as well. Scholarships Represented by the Honors Program
The Honors Program serves as the representative office on campus for prestigious national scholarship programs. Any student at Angelo State University may apply for these scholarships provided that they meet the eligibility guidelines. Please learn more about each scholarship and determine whether you are eligible to apply prior to contacting the Honors Program. You must apply separately for these scholarships.
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation
