Welcome to the First–Generation Program
With a student body of approximately 6,200 students, Angelo State University has a first–generation population of almost 50 percent. ASU recognizes that first–generation students have different needs and strives to create a more welcoming and understanding campus climate by addressing issues related to first–generation students.
Who is a first–generation student? First generation college students are students who would be the first in their families to complete higher education through two– and four– year postsecondary institutions.
