Oasis
Angelo State University's annual literary and artistic magazine published by the English department, Oasis serves as an ongoing educational experiment for ASU students, providing training in magazine design, editing, and production.
Works from various literary genres are accepted, including the short story, poetry, one-act plays, literary criticism, and essays. Foreign language submissions are welcome if accompanied by an English translation. Visual art is also accepted, including computer-generated art. On occasion Oasis can include color art. Questions regarding foreign language or visual art submissions should be directed to the editor or assistant editor.
Only students registered at ASU may submit work.
Students may submit poetry, one-act plays, short fiction, creative non-fiction, art/computer art, photography (color and black-white), and/or essays.
All writings can be submitted on a CD labeled with the filename of the student's work and must include the student's name, phone number, local address, and e-mail address; students may also submit writings by e-mail with the work attached in a Microsoft Word Document toOasis@angelo.edu.E-mail submissions must also include the above information. Hard Copies will be accepted, but if a submission is used, the submitter must provide electronic copies.
Hard Copies and Diskettes will be accepted in the English Department, Room 110A.
